North Atlantic Skyline, despatches from the west coast of Ireland

Hazel @ Parknabinnia, Burren National Park, Co. Clare

Hazel nuts ripening. Hazel has been part of the Burren since the retreat of the Ice Age, alternatively overtaking the terrain and retreating as human and animal activity take their toll. Hazel nuts are also an important part of the food change, feeding the mice and squirrels that in turn feed other predators.
