This yellow flower is everywhere in the Burren and is full bloom at the moment (mid-July) It's called Lady's Bedstraw (galium verum), supposedly because Mary, the mother of Jesus, used it as bedding on the night of the first Christmas. It's also supposed to have medicinal properties. Even though the flower is yellow, it's root can be used to create a crimson dye.I think the purple flower at the bottom of the photo is called Large Thyme.
