North Atlantic Skyline, despatches from the west coast of Ireland

Cairn settlement

Photograph

On the western side of Turlough Hill is a cairn, about the size of a bungalow. As one approaches, there are a number of circular formations on the ground, about 5 or 6 metres in diameter. Some are marked by stones, but others are just earthen humps. In this particular spot were seven circles together, and more are visible across the top of the hill.
