What happens to all the sea shells and crab bits after the diners have stopped guzzling. Behind the quay wall is an enormous mound of mussel shells, and the bits of crabs and lobsters that are inedible (i.e. the hard bits). As you can see, the tide takes care of the waste disposal. The seagulls like this system too.
