Moore Hall, Co. Mayo

George Henry Moore (1810 - 1879) ran the estate during the Famine, and ensured that none of his tenants starved or were evicted. It's ironic that he died while negotiating a rent dispute with tenants - it was tenants that bore his coffin at his funeral. He was also a great man for the horses, and even had a few winners in his time.
