Moore Hall, Co. Mayo

The walled gardens of old estates always facinate me, and sometimes, they are the only complete structure left on an estate. Coillte own the Moore Hall site and most of the land is planted with conifers. It's a pity that they have even planted the garden with trees too - it would be nice to have it planted with more varied vegetation. the photo shows a rather crude gap knocked through the wall, presumably to facilitate the tree planting.
