North Atlantic Skyline, despatches from the west of Ireland

This road runs through what was once one of the largest turloughs in the country, linking Gort with the Burren close to Kilmacduagh monastic site. Drainage has reduced it, but a huge amount of water still gathers every winter. I took these pictures of flooding at Castlequarter from further down this road last year - the water was several feet lower then.
