As you swing around the coast road from Finavarra Point towards New Quay, the road is built up upon a causeway. As you can see, it is shaped to withstand the force of the sea. The tide is nearly fully in at this time, and Lough Murree is out of shot on the right. Though it's not obvious from the photo, the rain was beginning to get heavy.
