Feartagar Castle, Co. Galway

Feartagar Castle (also known as Jenning's Castle) sits at the edge of woodland, at the end of a boreen. It's remarkably well-preserved, though locked. The entrance faces towards the woods. It's four stories high, with a vaulted roof on the second. It was built in either the 16th or early 17th century - the last occupant was a lady dispossed by Cromwell's forces.*
