Nephin mountain dominates the entire landscape of the Mayo countryside on the west side of Lough Conn. Errew Priory sits right on the edge of the lake, hidden among the hazel scrub that grows right down to the waters edge. It was built by the Barretts for the Augustinians in 1413.
