Introduction

I called over to the Ballinasloe Horse Fair on October 1st [2006] for a look. It was a hot sunny day,which normally would be a good thing. Combined with industrial quantities of horse dung, the novelty wore off quickly. I described the origins of the fair 2 years ago here - the organisers have stretched it into two weekends now, but most of the dealing happens during the first weekend.
