Beautiful shot! I'm a big fan of infrared photos and also Ireland. I have the 30D but not tried to make an infrared photo. I'm sure that there are plenty of sites that describe the process (red filter, etc.) but I'm curious about the pink tint to the foliage. That didn't happen back in the days of film. Do you like the pink tint?

The red filter gives a red tint by default. Even though I used a Custom White Balance, it still gives a reddsih tinge. I partially desaturated the picture to leave just a hint of colour.
The 30D should give you pretty decent IR shots - I use a Hoya R72.

Hey John

Camera question - Have you ever cleaned your sensor ? I, like yourself have a 30D and I have a fair few smudges. There is a lot of conflicting advice, but I have ordered the Copper Hill kit http://www.copperhillimages.com/index.php?pr=tutorials but I am hesitant about trying it. Any thoughts or advice ? Feel free to email me.
