I hate to be pedantic (I love your photoblog) but Silver Strand is not in Salthill, but Barna. Rusheen Bay would be considered by most Galwegians to be in Knocknacarra.

Lovely pic.. reminds me - Went for a swim in Silverstrand once when I lived in Galway. Cold day had to walk out into the water for ages to get some depth for a swim...only one in the water.. had Jaws on my mind... next thing a Scuba diver surfaces a few metres away from me... I was outa there quicker than you can say "blog"! Still makes me laugh.
