Claddagh Dawn

Dawn at the Claddagh yesterday morning - the last moments of calm before the Chrsitmas shopping hordes decend on the city.

Posted by Monasette at December 18, 2005 11:00 PMYour photographs are beautiful!
I have to agree with the post concerning the Elphin windmill in November -- I, too, would love to see a photograph of the monument outside of town. It caught my eye (and how could one miss it?) when we went past on a bus on November 25. I wanted to know more, but I was unable to get out and look. I love socialist realist sculpture, but I never would have expected to see anything like that in Ireland! Sadly, I haven't come across anything about the monument.
Posted by: Becca at December 19, 2005 04:21 PMJohn, you're making me homesick.
Posted by: John McDermott at December 19, 2005 04:27 PMThanks for the kind words. Becca, you're the second person to ask for a pic of the old monument in Elphin (and, as it happens, I have a few pics of it), so it should appear here before Xmas....
